This highly interactive, practical workshop provides specific strategies and techniques to

help therapists and their clients manage the conflict in their lives in a more healthy,

productive manner.  Through the use of everyday examples, discussion & specific

applications, therapists will gain a greater understanding of how conflict starts and escalates

as well as ways to proactively stop, and even reverse, the typical conflict escalation cycle.

Participants will be encouraged to apply the material to both their personal and professional

lives so that we keep the learning process as authentic and applicable as possible.


Educational Learning Objectives


1. Attendees will gain be able to identify the characteristics of productive as well as

negative conflict cycles.

2. Attendees will be able to identify the five most common conflict management styles

as well as advantages and disadvantages associated with these styles.

3. Attendees will leave with multiple different interventions to de-escalate conflict as

well as the ability to assess which intervention would be most appropriate given the

situation.


BIO:


Barry Davis, Divorce Mediator guides his clients through the divorce process in the most

peaceful, affordable manner possible by helping them keep their focus on their children and

their long-term interests. Combining almost two decades of full-time mediation experience

along with Masters Degrees in Clinical Psychology and Conflict Management equip him with

an exceptional understanding of how people respond under stress as well as practical ways

to help them move beyond short-term reactivity. His website is www.DavisMediation.com

not mediating, Barry enjoys anything outdoors including skiing, hiking and paddle-boarding

and has been a Whitewater rafting guide for 28 years.
