This highly interactive, practical workshop provides specific strategies and techniques to
help therapists and their clients manage the conflict in their lives in a more healthy,
productive manner. Through the use of everyday examples, discussion & specific
applications, therapists will gain a greater understanding of how conflict starts and escalates
as well as ways to proactively stop, and even reverse, the typical conflict escalation cycle.
Participants will be encouraged to apply the material to both their personal and professional
lives so that we keep the learning process as authentic and applicable as possible.

negative conflict cycles.
2. Attendees will be able to identify the five most common conflict management styles
as well as advantages and disadvantages associated with these styles.
3. Attendees will leave with multiple different interventions to de-escalate conflict as
well as the ability to assess which intervention would be most appropriate given the
situation.
