Course Description:

In this presentation, you’ll learn how experts in the field of sex therapy view and treat problematic porn use. We will also discuss research in what is often conceptualized as a behavioral addiction. Lastly, we will review how to diagnose and create a treatment plan for individuals and couples who are experiencing Out-of-Control Sexual Behavior problems.

After hearing this presentation, you will be able to:

• ·        Analyze current literature on sex addiction, impulsive/compulsive sexual behavior and hypersexual disorders and appreciate the similarities and difference
• ·        Explain how regulation, attachment and sexual/erotic conflicts disrupt the relationship between deliberative and affective systems leading to Out-of-Control Sexual Behavior symptoms.
• ·        Describe an evidence-based treatment plan for management of Out-of-Control Sexual Behavior.

Biography: 

Dr. Nazanin Moali is a licensed clinical psychologist and an AASECT certified Sex Therapist. Her private practice is located in Torrance and she specializes in working with couples and individuals struggling with issues of sex and intimacy.
